More on recycling...

Here's a website that makes learning about recycling fun, earn points, get some free stuff, and other perks. I like it for passing time and learning, instead of some empty FB game. I have to admit that my trash can has a lot less in it.

It Will Always Get Better, I Swear.

I've been bedridden except for therapy trips and doctors appointments for over a month now. I'm not 100%, but I'm fighting to be. I spoke with my boss today and someone I worked with closely had taken his own life whilst I've been out on disability.

I know things can get closed in on you. I've experienced that feeling of the world folding in on you. You have to grab a rope, a life preserver. It's not something that you should figure out when the shit hits the fan. My advice is to figure it out in case of emergency. Put it away for a rainy day. You never know what life will hand you. We plan for so much, but figuring out an emotional exit strategy is something I never hear talked about, until it's almost defcon 4.

I write. I make things if I have the energy. I love my dogs. I look for ways to get better, or do exercises that physically will improve my condition. I'm learning to ask for help. I'm learning to not stress out over things I cannot control. Sure I get angry, sure I implode/ explode, and sure I despair. That's when when my pre-planned exit strategy comes in, rather than checking out. There's a great Tedx Talk that I saw that totally had a hand to forehead, light bulb moment for me when I was in a lonely, dark place. There's more to the premise of adding time to your life, as the topic states, so I recommend watching this episode in it's entirety.

Like I said. It will always get better, maybe not the same, but it will get better. I swear.

Interested in trying out Art Journaling?

Interested in trying out Art Journaling? For me, it's pure therapy. It helps me add more expression behind my words, like music behind lyrics. Whether it be color, fabric, paper art, paint texture, or another medium to put behind my writing, I really love to watch it form. Sometimes it's just as much as actually creating the journal and making the entries the guts of the book. Kristal Norton is offering a great intro class FOR FREE. Check it out here:

I'll dig out some of my old books and post some pics. Right now I'm just throwing some entries into my favorite stand by, the old composition book from the dollar store, for the Brave Girls Club one minute, one paragraph series.

Happy Creating!

P.S. I had to add a picture I came across of Peter Steele's missing infamous journal/ song book.

What's to come and what the hell have I been up to?

I'm using Tumblr and Blogger to get around the "pages" problem. Tumblr can be read under Hope Inspired, or here Hope Inspired. I'm working on a Creative Writing post for here, since I have been making fancy journals, and writing in them as well. I also need to finish the sewing space. Almost there, I swear!

Until then,

Bucketlistly and Zombies

Yes, of course I have zombies on my bucket list. But I digress. There's a cute little app for the computer.
Bucketlistly
Their blog: Bucketlistly Blog

It ranges from Achievements listed as Health, Wealth, Self Growth, Travel, Career, and Relationships and very individualized from there. You can create your own unique goal/ achievement or join one. It's a site I'd like to see catch on for the social aspect of it. It just seems that it's pretty neat that there are sometimes several others with the same goal and have advice to offer and vice versa. I still have my ever being revised, coffee ring stained list tucked safely into my journal, but like I said, it's a different experience that can be widely shared with photos, advice, and even a extra support push from others.

Here is my personal Bucket List, if interested. It's something I just started working on, you know that project; ME?
Hope's Bucket List

Which leads me to Run For Your Lives! This is THE EVENT for my 2014. Camping, 5k zombie infested obstacle course, beer, music, blood, mud, electrified fences, food, fun, and did I mention beer and zombies?. What god did I please? They just added Northern Cali this year to their list of locations, but I had a way more important wedding and some work things that couldn't be pushed around. However, come hell, high water, or the actual Zombie Apocalypse, I will be participating as a Chaser Zombie for 2014. My leg injury has had my Ortho-Podiatrist, absolutely, veto me from running as a survivor, but not as a zombie, hee hee hee. There is always 2015, ya never know!

And here is a sample of a YouTube Survivor experience video, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, TEMECULA - A Short Film by Ryan Hermosura

I'm already picking out my undead contact lens and costume. Physical conditioning list to be the best Chaser ever is also being developed. As soon as they release next year's schedule, I will make the most awesome event calendar countdown. Definitely more to come on this project!!!

Make your own jewelry of mixed media pieces. Spellbinders - Media Mixage

I love making my own jewelry! It's so easy. Some resin or not, great imagery from your favorite ephemera, or objects set in resin, and your favorite blanks aka bezels (those empty metal pieces) to fill your creativity into necklaces, bracelets, rings, or additions to any mixed piece....and voila! Even add some textured pieces without enclosures of resin pieces and make shaped pieces.

In this link is the best, clear descriptive instructions on some creativity for a Sunday afternoon with your favorite libation: Spellbinders - Media Mixage

Here is a bing search for ideas a the many things you can do with this process: Resin+Jewelry+Project+Ideas

Photo used from http://www.beadingdaily.com

Have fun and don't forget the cold drink to elevate the project,

Paleo. My intro.

I've recently started merging into a Paleo diet, much to my vegetarian friends dismay. I do feel better and my weight seems to be dropping off without much effort. I've also gone gluten-free, which goes hand in hand with Paleo. I had read and spoken to too many doctors about my RHS (Ramsay Hunt Syndrome) being aggravated by gluten, and basically the crappy way that I was eating. Below is a Paleo cheat sheet, if you are interested. I'll also be posting some recipes and info. The below link is a larger PDF for the guide,

Thanks to Back On Pointe for the condensed cheat sheet.
